About Las Mangonadas

Tucked along 1144 Airport Blvd in Austin, Las Mangonadas has become one of those spots you stumble upon once and keep coming back to. The name already hints at what to expect—refreshing frozen mango treats layered with chamoy, tajín, and a balance of sweet and tangy that just wakes up your taste buds. Walking in, the first thing you notice is how colorful everything feels, from the drinks lined up behind the counter to the menu that doesn’t shy away from bold flavors.

What makes this place stand out is the way they elevate a simple snack into a full experience. A classic mangonada here isn’t just mango purée in a cup; it’s blended ice, chunks of fresh fruit, a drizzle of chamoy that runs down the sides, and that sprinkle of chili powder that gives each sip a kick. On a hot Austin afternoon, it’s the kind of drink that cools you down yet keeps your palate curious with every layer. Locals will tell you the serving sizes are generous, and sharing is optional, though most people finish one on their own.

The menu doesn’t stop at frozen drinks. Mexican street-style snacks make a strong appearance, from elotes loaded with mayo, cheese, and chili powder to tostilocos that feel like a party in a bag. You’ll also spot raspados, aguas frescas, and fruit cups, each one prepared with the same attention to freshness. It’s casual food meant for casual fun, perfect when you’re hanging out with friends or just grabbing something quick between errands.

Reviews from customers often highlight not only the flavors but also the energy of the location. The staff move quickly but never lose that welcoming attitude, and the vibe makes you feel like you’re part of the neighborhood. Families come in with kids, college students drop by for a treat after class, and tourists often find themselves amazed at how something so simple can taste so layered.

In Austin, where food culture runs deep, this spot has carved out its own identity. While the city is full of barbecue joints and taco trucks, Las Mangonadas offers a different kind of comfort—refreshing, playful, and rooted in Mexican tradition. It’s more than just a drink shop; it’s a place where flavor and fun meet right in the heart of the East Side.

Reviews

I purchased a small Rosca de Reyes with cajeta and it was delicious, easily one of the best I've had. Not dry at all!

I ordered a Tres Leches cake for my daughter’s graduation celebration. It received rave reviews from every single guest. While we picked up the cake we treated ourselves with a Mangonadas. It was so refreshing and flavorful. I recommend.

Such a nice experience and the food was delicious! The torta with milanesa could use some hot sauce but thats my only comment, the workers were kind and attentive, and I'm definitely stopping by when I pass by Austin again!!!

It was busy and we were served at a reasonable speed, staff seemed friendly overall. Elotes and mangonadas were both great. Negative reviews of people coming in right before they close, get some common sense and grow up, let these workers go home without dealing with you being rude!

Some really neat treats here! They have so much it’s hard to pick We started slow and will be back another day to try different treats! We have a Mexican vanilla cone, a waffle bowl cone with almond and chocolate mint and one with mazapán and Oreo cookie then we have two strawberry agua frescas mmmmmmmmmm

Reasonably priced deserts - this place is a hidden gem. The Churro ice-cream twist is very nice
